The DCU Law and Tech Research Cluster and EMILDAI are delighted to host a series of thought-provoking lectures during Ethics and Privacy Week 2025, running from January 27th to 31st, 2025 at Dublin City University (DCU). This lunchtime lecture series will bring together leading experts to explore critical topics in ethics and privacy, including AI trustworthiness and legal protections for neurorights.
These engaging sessions are open to all and provide an opportunity to reflect on some of the most pressing ethical challenges of our time.
Schedule of Events:
- Tuesday, January 28th (12 – 1 PM): Building Trust in AI: Developing a Tool for Trustworthiness Evaluation
- Wednesday, January 29th (1 – 2 PM): Data and Philosophical Justice: Exploring Ethical Dimensions in the Digital Age
- This lecture will be followed by a talk from Prof. Ingo Sarlet (PUCRS) exploring The evolution of the right to data protection in Brazil, featuring the DCU President and the Brazilian Ambassador to Ireland (2–4 PM, AG01, Albert College).
- Thursday, January 30th (12 – 1 PM): Panel Discussion – Neurorights and AI: Legal Perspectives on Protecting the Mind
