The EMILDAI Welcome Week 2023 ran from September 1st to 8th and offered a comprehensive introduction to the programme, Dublin City University, and student life in Dublin. It began with a formal welcome session, including an overview of the programme structure and regulations, followed by social events to help students get to know each other and the faculty. Over the course of the week, students participated in institutional presentations, feedback sessions, and workshops, covering essential administrative topics. The week also included a meeting with the Erasmus Mundus Student and Alumni Association, as well as an orientation day organised by DCU Global for international students. This week sets the stage for a smooth transition into the academic year and provides ample opportunities for students to connect and settle into their new environment.’

The week included an overview of the programme structure, student responsibilities, and key administrative processes such as opening bank accounts, acquiring a PPS number, and navigating Dublin’s public transport system. Students had the opportunity to meet faculty members, participate in feedback sessions, and connect with their peers through various social and cultural activities. Additionally, presentations from the Erasmus Mundus Student and Alumni Association, along with an international student orientation organised by DCU Global, ensured a smooth transition to student life in Dublin. The week concluded with a city tour and other social events, fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration among the new EMILDAI cohort.
