Welcome Week

From September 1st to September 5th 2025, we were delighted to welcome our fourth cohort of EMILDAI students to Dublin for the start of the new academic year! During Welcome Week, students had the chance to meet their peers, connect with faculty, and get an introduction to the exciting two-year journey ahead. The week featured institutional welcomes, social activities, and plenty of opportunities to build a strong community right from the start.

It began with a formal welcome session, including an overview of the programme structure and regulations, followed by social events to help students get to know each other and the faculty. Over the course of the week, students participated in institutional presentations, feedback sessions, and workshops, covering essential administrative topics. The week also included a meeting with the Erasmus Mundus Student and Alumni Association, as well as an orientation day organised by DCU Global for international students. This week sets the stage for a smooth transition into the academic year and provides ample opportunities for students to connect and settle into their new environment.’

Anibal Bujanda

My career path Since EMILDAI finished kicked off quite fast, before delivering my thesis I already had a job. Currently, I’ve had the opportunity to work in Madrid in Data Protection within the Fintech Industry and now I work in a Consulting Firm for the Investment Industry, focused in their cybersecurity (DORA) and Data Protection compliance. I managed to do all of this without even being a qualified lawyer in Spain, since the scope of EMILDAI knowledge area is quite international.

Joseph Boyer

After completing the EMILDAI program, I had the honor of returning to my alma mater, Tecnológico de Monterrey, as a Lecturer in the School of Law. I currently teach Legal English and Private International Law, where I integrate my expertise in data protection, AI regulation, and cybersecurity gained through EMILDAI and my international experience. As part of my teaching, I also organize virtual conferences with international lawyer guests, giving students the chance to learn directly from global professionals and broaden their perspectives. This opportunity feels like a full circle moment, allowing me to give back to the institution where I first studied law, while inspiring a new generation of students to engage with the challenges and opportunities at the intersection of law and technology.
