The IAPP brings together essential resources, tools, and practices needed to thrive in the evolving information economy. Governed by a board of distinguished privacy professionals, the IAPP also recognizes outstanding leadership and innovation through its annual awards. The IAPP Westin Research Center produces practical research in privacy, offering a fellowship program that serves as a pathway for future privacy leaders.
From this collaboration, the EMILDAI students are able to access the Certified Information Privacy Professional certification at a discounted rate. With this certification, you may demonstrate to the public that you are knowledgeable with data privacy rules and regulations, how to apply them, and that you are adept at managing and transferring data legally as well as jurisdictional laws, regulations, and enforcement models. With this certification, you can demonstrate to the world that you are knowledgeable about privacy laws and regulations, how to apply them, and how to protect your position in the information economy. A CIPP credential indicates that you have acquired a solid understanding of the fundamentals of privacy and data protection law and practice on a global scale. This understanding includes understanding jurisdictional laws, regulations, and enforcement models; fundamental privacy concepts and principles; and legal requirements for handling and transferring data, among other things.
